Dancing in the Streets
Well, summer’s here and the time is right …
Hi Everyone —
Here we are at the half-way mark of 2013 — can you believe it? I’m heading into a summer, fall and winter of concerts as well as getting the whole mom-gig organized — it’s crazy and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
The first six months of this year were eventful to be sure! Opened the year with the second annual New Year’s Eve show at the Rose Theatre in California, joined on stage with the talented students of the Orange County School of the Arts and Academy of Performing Arts in Huntington Beach. I’ve traveled to Florida a few times with the Sarasota and Brevard Symphony Orchestras, had a marvelous time with the Seattle Symphony honoring the late (and great!!) Marvin Hamlisch, sang with the local La Mirada Symphony, and returned to Wisconsin for two solo concerts in Madison and Brookfield! I even ventured into the recording studio to lay down a new musical medley (soon to be released on iTunes) AND to voice an animated character in a NEW MOVIE (more on that later, too!)!!!
This year has also been about re-connecting with old pals while on my travels: Sarah Uriarte Berry (fellow Broadway Belle and my college roomie!), Stacy Logan and Paige Price (OBC Beauty and the Beast), Jennifer Rae Beck (tremendous NY actress), Lisa Vroman (got to do TWO concerts with her this year!), David Zippel (Hercules lyricist ), and many more!
All that, mixed with leading a Girl Scout Troop, playing “cruise director” to two little girl’s lives and feeding my ever-growing (soon to take over the planet) vegetable garden (have you seen Little Shop of Horrors??) … well, it keeps me sane, I mean crazed, I mean …
I hope all is wonderful in your worlds. Thanks so much for checking in with me here. Be sure to see where I’m headed in concert HERE, and stay tuned for new releases to come!!
If you haven’t tuned into the interview I did with LMLMusic Presents — find it HERE (and scroll to the June 1st interview). SO much fun talking with Lee and Chris!
